The Way I Work
The first consultation
This gives us the opportunity to meet and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you would like to gain from it. It will also allow you the space to discuss any questions and concerns you may have about the counselling process and it gives us the chance to get to know each other and decide whether we would like to work together.
Sessions are usually weekly, at the same time. I aim to work in a way that feels non-judgemental and supportive, in a comfortable and confidential environment. I believe that my role, as your counsellor, is to help you explore whatever you are going through and facilitate the discoveries you make about yourself, but I will never offer advice or tell you what to do.
Number of sessions
I offer both fixed-contract and open-ended therapy. The number of sessions is usually agreed on in our first consultation, when we discuss your needs and which option may be best for you.
My practice hours are usually between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm. However, I understand that life gets busy, so as well as offering appointments during ‘normal’ working hours, I do have limited availability of early morning and evening appointments.
